Laura “Ellie” Branagin

Co-Founder & Co-Owner · Total Body Wellness

Forever woven in our hearts

Since our inception, Total Body Wellness has always had a family-like feel. Both our staff and patients are the fabric of what makes TBW so special. That has made the passing of our co-founder, Laura “Ellie” Branagin, so very difficult for us all. On Monday, May 25, 2026, she departed this earthly world, where she is now embraced in the arms of the Divine. This loss has shocked our TBW family and the community at large. It’s not often that we sit back and appreciate the positive impact your co-workers have and the joy they bring. This loss has pushed this to the forefront of our hearts.

Ellie was a person who loved people. Her quiet demeanor was often overshadowed by her passion for helping her patients. Anyone who walked into an exam room with her could immediately sense her wealth of knowledge and her God-given talent for remembering the right protocol to make someone feel at their best. An untold number of patients would say, “I never felt truly heard by my previous doctors, but Ellie took the time to really listen to my concerns, and she offered insights and treatments that had never been considered.” That was the magic that made her such a good provider.

Outside of the office, that same calm and loving nature permeated through her friends and family. It was easy to see that she naturally assumed the nurturing role. Those close to her would often seek her counsel because they knew she would advise wisely, with a loving, caring nature hard to find elsewhere.

The outpouring of support, phone calls, social media posts, flowers, and well-wishes is a testament to the impact Ellie had on this world. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, friend, coworker, and cat mom. To say we will miss her is an understatement. Every time we walk through the doors of TBW, we can do so with a tear and a smile. A tear, knowing that she won’t be far behind, and a smile, knowing that we all had the pleasure of spending our working hours with someone who was so special.

We encourage those who knew her to share a memory, or those who want to send condolences to do so in the comment section below.

If Ellie touched your life, this space is yours. Share a memory, a kind word, or simply her name.

We are reading every one.

  1. I’ve been a patient of Ellie’s for 8 years, and she became more than a provider she became a sweet caring friend. She had a wonderful smile and gentle caring ways. I always looked forward to my appointments to see not only her but her great staff all so friendly and caring. My heart is broken prayers and love to everyone🥲🥲❤️🙏

  2. I came in a mess about 5 1/2 years ago to Ellie listening to all that I had to say. She took me off of meds I never needed for 21 years. After getting my hormone journey stable I expressed my struggles with weight. She encouraged me to seek help from Cassy. I will forever be thankful for her help and support. She will be truly missed. We love our Jesus in our house so we lift her family and her working family to him for comfort. Thank you Ellie and for the TBW team for all you do!

  3. I have been a patient of Ellie’s for over 3 years. She always seemed very concerned about any medical issues, and so very willing to figure out the root cause, unlike any medical professional I’ve ever had. She was sweet & kind with a very gentle & caring spirit about her. I will be being under her care. I’m sure she will be missed by many including her TBW family. RIP Ellie 💔

  4. I’ve been a patient of Ellie’s for 10 years, I was desperate for help, and she was the one who took the time to listen to me and do all she could to help in any way possible. She changed my life for the better, I loved sharing with others all the wonderful things about Ellie and the TBW staff! I always looked forward to seeing her, she was more than a medical provider, we always chatted about our families, vacations, etc. She will truly be missed, sending all the prayers and love to everyone!❤️

  5. You will be greatly missed. When no one else was able to help or even willing to listen, you did. You made such an impact in my life and so many others that I’ll always be thankful that I met you. I hope that you realize the impact that you made in this world.

  6. I started with Ellie in 2021 after realizing that I was getting nowhere with my GP and OBGYN after having a hysterectomy in 2018, she was the 1st provider who actually listened to me and made me feel heard when I knew something was off with my body. I enjoyed getting to see her and share notes on some of the wellness topics that I had been reading and researching and getting her thoughts and opinions on them, as well as picking her brain on some of the same. Eventually Ellie took on my entire family of 4 and was instrumental in supporting my youngest daughter with her severe endometriosis symptoms and putting her on a protocol that has since changed her life. I have shared Total Body Wellness to everyone I know for many years BECAUSE of my experience with Ellie. After my daughter became a patient of Ellie’s and got to experience that magic as well, she changed her life goals and pivoted to pursuing nursing BECAUSE of Ellie and what she was able to do to help her with endo symptoms. My daughter and I left an appointment with Ellie earlier this year (2026) and she turned to me in the car and said, “Mom, I want to do what Ellie is doing and help women that are going through what I am going through. Of all the doctor’s we have been to, she is the 1st person to listen to ME and actually help me manage this.”
Ellie poured and poured into her patients and her practice and I know this because I have heard the exact same thing from other people who I know that were lucky to have her as their NP. I will miss her wisdom, her smile and her laugh that took me a few years to bring out. But most of all I will miss what she represented in the medical community, she listened when nobody else would.

    1. I am a newbie to TBW and unfortunately did not get the pleasure of meeting Ellie, but after hearing so many accounts and the outpouring of sadness and respect from patients and staff of TBW I know she was one of those few people in this world that you were blessed to have known in her short time here..
I can also say that it’s very evident that she left her staff with a deep impression of her caring, compassion, and knowledge – so that they will be able to continue carrying her legacy forward in their hearts and in the care they continue to provide. I’m fortunate to be experiencing that now with my care providers.

  7. My spiritual, crystal-loving soul sister — I will hold you in my heart for the rest of my days. I am endlessly thankful to have been given the chance to know you, love you, and work with you.

Rest easy, Ellie. The TBW family you created will continue to care for your patients from here. Your love, light, and legacy will never be forgotten.

  8. Ellie was my nurse practitioner for two years, but she was so much more than just a healthcare provider. From the very first moment I met her she made me feel welcomed, comfortable, heard, cared for and genuinely valued. She had a gift fo making her patients feel seen and loved. Ellie was beautiful inside and out. Her kindness, compassion and warmth were contagious and she touched so many lives simply by being herself. We would often talk about our love for our Jeeps and memories of her hometown, which is also my hometown. She cared deeply about her role in helping people feel their best. I am grateful for the short time I was blessed to know her and for the help she provided to me. She will be remembered not only for the care she provided but for the love, light and kindness she shared so freely. My heart breaks for her family, friends, patients, TBW family and all that knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Thank you Ellie for simply being you. Rest easy in the arms of Jesus.

  9. Ellie was great and will missed. I am keeping your staff and her family in my prayers. She was the best and will be greatly missed.

  10. My heart is aching for all of you that had the pleasure of working with her and for her children and family. The kindness in her smile and in her eyes show what a light she was. I’m so very sorry for the pain you feel now and will always feel without her presence. Sending my deepest condolences. May she rest peacefully in Heaven.

  11. Ellie is such a beautiful soul.

I’ve been going to Ellie for about 10 years now. She didn’t make you feel like a client; she made you feel like family. I was always amazed every time I went in; she would ask me about my wife and son and remember things I told her 6 months ago. We shared many personal stories, talked business, and every time I saw her, I left feeling good.

These days, it’s rare to leave a doctor’s office or any business feeling appreciated. All my other doctors rush me out the door to get to the next patient.

I started going to Ellie at a dark time in my life. I tried several doctors, and no one could get my testosterone right or cared enough to figure out the problem. I was feeling depressed, emotional, and frustrated with dealing with other doctors. From the start, she told me we would figure this out even if we had to try many combinations. She got it right on the very first try, and within a week, I started feeling like my old self again.

Ellie was truly one of a kind, and I’m thankful that I got to know her over the years.

My heart breaks for her family, the staff, and everyone close to her.

Thank you, Ellie, for taking the time to listen to me, to care about my situation, and even for remembering the little stories I told you about my family, and for caring enough to ask about them every time I came in. You truly impacted my life, and you helped me when other doctors didn’t care to.

    God bless you

  12. She was an amazing person! My heart goes out to everyone. Healing thoughts and prayers coming everyone’s way from me!

  13. I have been a patient of Ellie’s for approximately 3 years. She listened to my concerns and symptoms. The same ones I had been telling my GP for YEARS. She fixed me. She knew exactly what to do. I will always cherish her outlook on Healthcare because we need more like her! She changed my life just simply by listening to me and taking action. I am forever grateful. I have referred other women to her because I knew she could help them too – and she did! She brought affordable options to those who are struggling with hormone health, along with options GPs will never consider implementing. I am still in shock about this tragedy. She was one of a kind! You will be missed Ellie 🫶

  14. As many of you have said, Ellie actually listened. She made me feel heard, respected and not crazy. She didn’t give me the “you are of that age” bs line. She knew it wasn’t normally to feel miserable in your own skin. She knew it’s not normal to be ok with coming home and be ok with sitting in your bed and not speaking to any one. Her name was the first thing out of my mouth when others complained about feeling the same way I used to years ago. She will be truly missed by myself and so many others. I hope she knew how loved and respected she was by all of us. So hard to believe I just saw her a few weeks ago and now she’s gone.

  15. I found TBW in December 2024. I was desperate to find a solution for some GI issues. The thorough testing found the source of the problem and my life has improved immensely. Ellie was a bright light in the health maze and I admired her approach that is more functional medicine. My heart is broken to see such a vibrant woman killed in her home.

  16. I wasn’t a patient of Ellie’s, but see Ashley. However, I remember passing her in the hallway during one of my appointments and she gave me a huge smile and I felt an overwhelming amount of comfort. Prayers and hugs to all who knew her!!

  17. What can I say that hasn’t been said already? Ellie was compassionate and caring. She always listened to my needs and concerns. She offered device but always had a smile! She helped me feel better after a long road of wondering exactly why I wasn’t feeling my best since moving from California. I started seeing Ellie three or four years ago. She and Total body wellness have been one of the best decisions I made about my health journey! She also worked with my underlying longtime medical conditions at the same time, providing me with help to move forward and feel my best! I shall miss her! What happened to her is tragic! 😢 but look at all the outpouring in love and that’s just a testimony to the service that she provide others and the servant she was!

  18. I was a classmate of Ellie, we knew her as Laura. Shes the sweetest person anyone could ever known. I am still in such disbelief. I told another classmate of ours why is it that the good ones go way to soon. I can still see that blonde hair & big smile . And her giving it to all who she played against in sports. RIP ELLIE (LAURA) 🙏 always remembered never forgotten & condolences go out to all the family and friends 🧡

  20. Ellie was a wealth of knowledge. She spent the time and shared so much knowledge that I have now shared with others.
Thank you to your dedication to not only general health but to Women’s Health!!
May you Rest in Peace Ellie.

  21. I was one of Ellie’s first patients at TBW. I came to her in the fall of 2020 when they first opened the Brownsburg location. I was desperate for help, no other doctors were listening, my anxiety had spiraled, I had been yelled at by a physician, and I had lost all hope in the medical profession. Ellie was calm and compassionate and made me feel comfortable on that first visit. She ran tests that had never been run before and helped get me out of the rut I was stuck in. I will always be so thankful for the care she provided me for the last 6 years. She was a true treasure in the medical field that is failing so many these days. 💚

  22. When I first met Ellie I felt her kind energy and loving spirit right away. She was always smiling the few times I saw her and always listened intently to everyone around her. She was such a caring person and left so much of her kindness wherever she went. As a NP who does the same type of work she does, I hope I can leave the impact she has on so many lives. Her kindness and empathy are truly inspiring.

  23. I remember Ellie taking the time to listen to my concerns about my health. We also enjoyed discussing crystals and their incredible healing powers. She would often carry some in her pocket, shaking them. My heart goes out to the TBW team during this difficult time. Please accept my deepest condolences for your profound loss. Ellies spirit and passion will always be cherished.

  24. It was approximately 2021 when I started experiencing awful anxiety side effects from coming off the birth control pill after 15 years. It was the hardest time in my life mentally. I wanted to do whatever it took to be normal again. This is when I visited TBW and became Ellie’s patient. We quickly ran all of the tests that she would then review with me in detail. Without Ellie, I’m not sure what would have come of my mental struggles. She was a saving grace during such a hard time for me. No other medical professional has taught me about the way my body functions like Ellie. She played such a significant role in my well-being and I am enternaly grateful. She will be greatly missed and may she rest in peace.

  25. I met Ellie in 2021 when she allowed me to shadow her at TBWB. I love to see how other providers interact with their patients. Ellie listened well and they loved her. Her smile was contagious, she spoke with intention, and her patients felt confident in the plan and her knowledge as they left the office.

Life got busy, but I enjoyed seeing her at conferences and later either by the pool or at dinner. She was a free spirit and would quietly sit back and just take it all in. She loved life.

She left a beautiful legacy for other providers to strive for and will be missed by so many. I have been praying for a comfort only Jesus can bring for her family and friends.

  26. I met Ellie many years ago through the integrative medicine community, and from the moment I met her, there was something special about her presence. She was soft spoken, kind, and carried a sense of calm that made people feel comfortable the moment they were around her.

I always loved hearing about her travels and adventures and would joke that I was living life vicariously through her. She had a way of bringing lightness and joy to conversations without ever needing to be the center of attention.

The loss of Ellie leaves a hole that cannot be filled. She touched so many lives through her work, her friendships, and simply through the way she showed up for others. Her impact will continue to be felt throughout Total Body Wellness and across the many people who were fortunate enough to know her.

I feel incredibly grateful that our paths crossed in this lifetime. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, her friends, and the entire Total Body Wellness community as they navigate this heartbreaking loss. May they find strength in one another and comfort in the many memories she leaves behind.

Rest peacefully, Ellie. You will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. ❤️

  27. Ellie was the first medical professional that actually took the time to listen to the issues I was having and not just write me off. Every appointment she took the time to actually hear my concerns and created a plan to make me feel my absolute best. I will forever be thankful for her kindness, compassion and knowledge.

  28. Ellie was my provider and I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She was the most compassionate, gentle, informative provider
I have ever seen. She never belittled and no question was ever too “trivial” to her. She will be deeply missed and my prayers are with her family and the entire TBW staff.

  29. Ellie carried a spirit about her that few people do. I could tell immediately the first time I met her that she was one of a kind. I cannot imagine the heartache the TBW family is enduring and I pray endlessly for God to bring peace during this unimaginable loss. Ellie was an inspiration to providers everywhere and her legacy will not be forgotten.

  30. Ellie and I worked together at Wishard on the Medsurg unit when she first graduated nursing school. I remember my first shift with her, tall and blonde with 2 French braids just smiling away as if she didn’t just walk into the craziest work assignment ever, LOL. We had so much fun together on night shift working in the trenches with our little crew, making each other laugh all night long, helping each other through some seriously rough shifts, being downright silly sometimes. Ellie was just the best. She was always so calm in the face of chaos, easy-going, her patients and co-workers adored her. We kept in touch over the years and she was always just radiating love and compassion and joy. Reading all these comments about what a spectacular provider/human she was to people needing someone to really listen to their health concerns brings a huge smile to my face. I am really gonna miss you and that contagious smile and your heart of absolute gold, Ellie. Love you.

  31. I met with Ellie, back 2020 when TBW, open here in Brownsburg. She not only change my life but my views on holistic heath care. I will miss her dearly, she was sweet, caring, her energy she was very affectionate she made you feel comfortable and safe with her. She truly cares for her patients

    Rest up Angel!

All the ladies at TBW are wonderful, always pleasant and happy.
Sending my prayers to TBW family and to Ellie family. God gives you strength during this difficult time.

  32. May God continue to provide the family, friends, co-workers, and all that has been blessed by Ellie directly or indirectly, peace and comfort during these moments and the many days and years ahead. I absolutely LOVE the TBW family and the amazing difference you all have made in the quality of my health and wellness and this is because of the vision and high standards set in place by Ellie and Ashley. My sincere condolences and continued prayers. ❤️

  33. I was a patient of Ellie’s for 8 years. I was seeing Ellie before she got her own business. She was an awesome person. Very good at figuring out what I needed to be healthier. She was very thorough. I loved that. I’m still devastated about the news. I will miss her greatly.

  34. Ellie,
I do and will miss your infectious smile and your beautiful presence walking through the door to take care of me. As I write this with great sadness and tears I never wanted anyone else to insert my pellet even if that meant going a few more days or weeks of waiting because of your full schedule because that’s how much I trusted you as my NP and I didn’t want to miss out on our short but sweet conversations either. Although I now have to move forward in my health journey with Abby you will never be replaced. I’m told you trained her to have your values and your mission so I’m putting my trust in her hands and her professionalism and I’m hoping Abby and I become a great fit. Rest in peace my sweet angel and I’m so ever thankful to have gotten that last hug and listening ear from you😇🤗🩷🙏🏾

  35. I have been a patient of Ellie’s since 2021. She was always so kind and went over everything on my reports that I needed to know. She was so very knowledgeable and took her time with me on every appointment. I was devastated too about the sad news. I will miss her!
Sincere condolences to all of her friends and co-workers.

  36. We are so deeply sorry for the loss of your mom. She meant so much to our family not only as an incredible nurse practitioner but as someone who truly cared for us in such a thoughtful and personal way.

Ellie’s depth of knowledge her connection with our family, and the way she guided us on our health journey was truly personalized care like none other. We are where we are today because of her attentiveness and her genuinely authentic nature.

What she was to our family is only a reflection of what she must have been to all of you — her greatest love and joy.

We will be grateful for and always remenber her compassion, her dedication, and the impact she had on our lives. Please know that you are in our thoughts as you navigate this incredibly difficult time.

We wanted to share a few verses that felt especially meaningful as we reflect on who Ellie was and the legacy she leaves behind:

“She is clothed with strength and dignity…” Proverbs 31:25
“Honor her for all that her hands have done and let her works bring her praise…” Proverbs 31:31
“The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:25-26

    With heartfelt sympathy,

    Shelley and Curt P.
